For legal

AI agents for law firms — privacy first.

Client intake that runs at 11pm. Document triage that flags what matters. Compliance monitoring that doesn't sleep. Built without code, on infrastructure designed for legal-grade privacy.

An AI agent for law firms automates the high-volume, low-judgement work — intake, document triage, deadline tracking, client status updates — without compromising on privacy or compliance. Squidgy operates a dedicated legal vertical with regulated-data infrastructure (separate backend, privacy controls, model selection) for firms that need it.

Worked example

The new-matter intake agent.

A 12-solicitor regional firm handles ~80 new matter intakes per month, currently consuming roughly 30 hours of paralegal time. Launches an intake agent that conversationally walks clients through the firm's standard discovery — facts, parties, jurisdiction, prior counsel — and produces a structured brief.

Pricing: bundled into the firm's per-matter overhead — £99 per matter on Squidgy's legal tier. 80 matters × £99 = £7.9K/month, recouping 25 paralegal hours, freeing those staff for higher-value work.

All client data stays on Squidgy's regulated-data infrastructure with full audit logs. The firm controls retention, access, and deletion — built for legal compliance from day one.

FAQ

Common questions.

Is Squidgy compliant with legal-data privacy requirements?+

Squidgy operates a separate regulated-data tier for legal — distinct backend, privacy controls, and model selection. Firms can configure data retention, audit logs, and access controls to meet their jurisdiction's requirements (UK SRA, US ABA, etc.). We can sign DPAs and BAAs as needed.

Can the agent give legal advice?+

Out of scope by default. Agents are configured to handle factual and procedural queries while declining anything requiring legal judgement. Substantive advice escalates to a solicitor.

What about client confidentiality?+

Client data is isolated to the firm's tenant on Squidgy. Models do not train on client data. Conversations are logged and auditable; the firm controls retention and deletion. Designed for solicitor-client privilege.

Will my insurer cover use of an AI agent?+

Increasingly yes — major legal-malpractice insurers cover compliant AI agent use, and may even discount premiums for firms using documented systems. Confirm with your specific insurer; we provide compliance documentation.

How does this integrate with our case management software?+

Squidgy supports major case management systems (Clio, MyCase, ActionStep) via API. The agent reads case data, writes intake briefs, syncs status. Custom systems supported via webhooks.

What's the legal vertical's pricing structure?+

Legal tier pricing reflects the additional infrastructure (regulated data, audit logs, dedicated models). Roughly 30–50% above standard Squidgy pricing. Talk to us for firm-level deployments.
